THE CITY ADDRESS.
The resolution passed at last meeting- of the City Council, expressing the wish of the Council that the city, address should be read and not merely handed to His Koyal Highness, was forwarded to the Premier, who has replied advising the Reception Committee to wait, upon His Excellency the Governor on the subject. He does not, however, think that the alteration will be made, as ill Melbourne the' city address was merely handed to the Duke. •
