CHARGE OF CONSPIRACY.

The case in which Mouatt, commercial traveller, and Winstanley, telegraph clerk. Christehurch. were charged with having conspired to defraud Patterson Bros., bookmakers, of Wellington, was resumed to-day. Edward latterson, in his evidence, declined to answer whether the amount bet with Mouatt was determined by the totalisator dividend. The original telegram which was alleged to have been handed in after the conclusion of the race, but was timed prior to it, making- the wager on the race, was put in. After counsel addressed the Court accused were committed for trial. Win Stanley's bail was fixed in himself at £100, and one surety of £100, and Mouatt's himself in £ 100, and one surety of £200.
