(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. " The following applications for protection have been granted:—Waihi Extended Company, twelve months for two special sites at Waihi; Deep Sinker and Deep Levels Consolidated special claim, a further three months; Mariposa Company, Kuaotunu, with the Kapai Vermont, six months' protection for four water races; Ohinemuri Syndicate, special claim at' Owharoa, six months. The deed of surrender has been lodged by the Kauri Timber Company of 75 acres' in the Kapowai block at Gumtown. Mercury Bay.
