Kapai Vermont Ground, lie has been , informed that as a subsidy of £500 was granted last year to Messrs James Eussell, S. Thorne George, and H. GilfiUaja, junior, for continuing- a shaft in the Mariposa Mine to a further depth of 100 ft, the Minister can- i not* divert that subsidy towards the cost of the proposed drive.
