The following telegram w.as received this morning by Mr. 11. RHunt, secretary to the Reception Committee, from Mr. Holmes, Government Commissioner: "The naval squadron will make ilk grand electric display for two hours, commencing 6.30 p.m. on evening of June 11. Will it therefore be advisable to have your fireworks display on the same evening, or defer it till the nextevening, when you have nothing else prepared." This matter will be dealt with by the Emergency Committee on Monday.
Mr. Holmes further informs the secretary that there is nothing in the cabled programme from Sydney about laying the foundation stone of Admiralty House, so that this has evidently been abandoned. The foundation stone of the Victoria School for Maori Girls will be laid by the Duchess of York.
