LIST OF CASUALTIES.
KILLED. The names of those who arc known to have lost their lives in the fire are: — Leonore Johnstone, ag-ed 14. Eva Johnstone, aged 13. Nina. Johnstone, aged 0. Dora 'Wallace, housemaid. MISSING. Pred Ayres, bank inspector. INJURED. . Miss Morse, barmaid, back badlyinjured, also internal injuries. Miss Meyers, barmaid, thigh fractured. Miss Boyd, barmaid, leg- broken and also foot, and severe shock-. AH three are rather seriously injured, but are not believed to be in immediate danger. Miss Wallace was severely burned, and received internal injuries. She became unconscious after being removed 'to the Hospital, and ultimately expired about half-past ten this morning-. Miss Wallace was an Edinburg-h girl, and had been employed at the Grand Hotel for about six months. She has a sister at Dunedin, who was telegraphed for first thing- this morning. Miss Meyers' relatives live in Upper Queen-street. THE INQUEST. The Coroner, Mr T. Gresham, opened an inquest on the victims of the fire at 3.30 this afternoon at the Central Hotel. After formal evidence had been., taken, the inquest was adjoui-nod.
