Sir, —I should like to know why, when the. number at the coming re* ception must of necessity be limited, one favoured family haw no less than four invitations. Surely a gathering of this kind should be distinctly representative. Why should imraar. ried girls take precedence of married ladies whose position entitles them to an invitation? Who pulls the wires?—l am, etc., LOYAL BUT DISGUSTED CITIZEN.
