EDUCATION BOARD ARRANGEMENTS.
The committee appointed hy the Education Board to deal with correspondence relating to the visit of their Royal Highnesses Ihe -Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and York reported at this morning's meeting as , follows: —(1) Your committee report that they have drawn up a circular for issue to School Committees and head teachers, inviting their celebration of the event in accordance with the suggestions of the Minister of Education and the resolutions of the Board. (2) Your committee have also voted a sum of five guineas ( £5 5/) towards the decoration of the offices in the Victoria Arcade. (3) Your committee have communicated with the commanding officer with J a view to the School Cadet Corps being allowed to form a guard of honour at or near Government House. The Secretary (Mr V. E. Rice) stated that, (lie officer commanding the district, had pdinted out that the guard of honour would be supplied by the Royal navy. He thought the cadets could be otherwise used. It was decided that the question of the best means of utilising the cadets should be left in the hands of Lieut.-Colonel White and Captain Grant, the Board's instructor. .
