ROYAL OAK RETURN.
The return from the Royal Oak G.M. Co. for last month was more satisfactory, 29 tons of general ore and HOOlbs of picked stone having yielded WOoz lOdwt of melted gold, worth £482 12/. DRAINAGE CONTRIBUTIONS. The Thames-Hanraki. G.M.Co.. having- withdrawn its objection to the assessment made by the Thames Drainage Board, the only case left at present is the objection lodged by the AVaiotnhi Company. BUNKER'S HILL. The No. 1 reef in the drive from the winze continues to look well, and when breaking down this week dabs and blotches of gold were seen well distributed through the stone. In No. S stope the reef is looking- well and improving- in size. Nice colours of gold were seen in the quartz broken from this point. NEW FOUR-IN-HAND. Mr W. Holgate, the general manager, reports that a fair amount of development work has been done by driving on the reef going south in tho intermediate level, which is nowdriven on from the rise 108 feet. The. reef for the last 100 feet has been larger than usual and has yielded quartz of exceptionally good quality. The rise on reef started between Nos. 1 and, 2 levels on the Cuirassier boundary and referred to in last report is now about through to No. 1 level. The reef lookswell, and colours of gold. are occasionally visible in the stone. Stoping has been continued in Nos. 1 and 2 blocks, and the quartz obtained has been of usual average value. A start has also been made to prospect what is known as the Tainui leader in the Taimii section. A drive of 40 feet cut the leader some 200 feet south of where the trial crushing of two tons was taken from. The quartz looks well and gives a fair prospect
