OTAHUHU TROTTING CLUB'S MEETING.

The summer meeting of the Otahuhu Trotting Club was brought to a successful conclusion on Saturday last at Potter's Paddock, Epsom. The weather waß fine and the attendance large, fully 2500 people being present to witness the sport, whlcb proved of a very interesting nature, as one or two very close battles were fought out in the straight. Speculation proved brisk, and during the afternoon the sum of £3570 10/ was passed through the totalisator, which, added to the two previous day's amounts, brings the total up to £9108 10/ for the meeting. Mr A. R. Harris was in his usual position in the judge's box, while the startIng was performed by Mr F. W. Edwards. The following are the results:-— President's Handicap Trot.—Mr James Otway's k c The Autocrat (Sandall), 31s, 1; Ebonite, 2; Hero, 3. Time. 4m 19Js. Poransrl was in front for the first round, but The Autocrat soon assumed the lead and passed the winning post five yards ahead of Ebonite, who came very fast up the straight.
