J.C. .Handicap.—Tamporo (Hewitt), 1; Stratlniiiirn, :.'; Cameo. '.'>. All started. Spider led up to the Jour furlongs, where Strathuairn joined him, the pair having1 a length and a half lead of Pampero. The latter came with a great, bat from the halfdistance, winning a pretty race by a bare length. Sinithriairn just headed Cameo. .Tupiter broke down- Time, 2min 13 2-ssec. Dividend, Cl IS/.
Hack Handicap.—Off Chance (L. King) 1. Terrapin 2, Gladys II 3. Scratched La Heine. Won by a neck, with half a length between feeond nnd third. Timai, 1.35. Dividend, £5 3/.

As an indication of the interest taken in Auckland In the Newmarket Handicap, run at Flemington to-mor-row, and the faith reposed in Advance, it may be stated that the New Zealand crack has been backed here to win over £20,000 and rlirutigliout this colony for over £80,000.
