' After the recent fire in Customsstreet, we understand, a quantity of eluimpag-ue, wine, and spirits mysteriously disappeared. On Saturday last Detectives Maddern and Bailey, accompanied by Mr Rose (Collector of Customs), seized a quantity _ of liquor in different parts of the city. We understand thai the step was taken by the Customs authorities to put a stop to the pilfering that has been going on lately among- the debris of the fire.
