The drive is now in 309 feet, and the ground is much harder than it has been. The manager hopes to be ready to sink by the end of next week. I NEW WHAU. The rise on the junction of the haugingwall leader and the Sons of Freedom reef above No. 1 level is up 13 feet, and a stope is also being carried eastward. The leader looks well. The manager hopes to treat a small parcel of ore from the leader on Wednesday. Above No. 2 level the; main reef averages 3 feet, aud shows signs of improvement. ALPIL.. The western drive, No. 4 level, is penetrating country in which stringers of quartz are met with. The No. j reef should be to bund in about another 10 feet of driving. j
