AGAIN

Auckland has despatched anotherl body of her young men to fight for the Empire in South Africa. Their* departure, yesterday, lacked that display of public enthusiasm which their comrades who went before them on the same quest enjoyed, but we doubt not that Wellington, whither our boys have gone,, will, oir behalf of the whole' colony ~'do as fitting honour to the Seventh Contingent <as has been done to its predecessors. In (the "Graphic" this week is published ' a full-page picture of the Auckland boys of the Seventh, with other interesting scenes in connection with their departure. ' The departure of the Imperial troops has also a prominent place among the illustrations. So great has been the public-interest manifested in the Visit of the latter1 to New Zealand that the journal decided to AGAIN

devote some of its space to such scenes and incidents as have not yet appeared in any pictorial. Being the only illustrated paper whose photographer accompanied the. troops to the I.otorua Wonderland, it is in the position to give its readers some unique pictures of Tommy in the geyser region—pictures which, will always have a strange attraction. It was also successful in obtaining exclusive views' of the Indian quarters, where no other photographers Were allowed. Tin* "Graphic,". .in this week's issue, may therefore claim to be AGAIN ■.; ~.•;■;-• first in the field for the number, interest, and artistic merit of its Hlus-, trations. Our readers will remember that this is a mail number, and one object in view in giving prominence to pictures of {he, re-

cent visit is to provide something unique for sending to friends in the Old Country. Many were unable to secure copies of last week's number for fhis.purnosp.- The present issue will afford them an .opportunity AGAIN. - :

The number will he published to-, morrow morning. . *'.'■"•"
