Cross-street.—Ratepayers in this street asked to have the water main in Crossstreet completed, as eight houses were at' present dependent upon a half-inch pipe. —It was resolved to extend the main... when they were available. Alleged Nuisance.—Mr Ussher wrote on behalf of Mr Pie, complaining that a " closet in Srssex-street was a nuisance owing to being near the dining-roijarwin-dow of the house.—The Sanitary Inspector was instructed to take legal steps to have the nuisance remedied. Ponsonby Road.—On the re-onunehda-tion of the Streets Committee, it tots resolved that Mr H. H. Metcalf- be asked to prepare working plans tor kerbtng and channelling Ponsonby Road. ' * Leighton-street.—The Streets Commit-, tee recommended that no temporary work be done in Leighton-street, but that when funds are available the street be cut to its permanent level from Rose Road to Richmond Road.—This was agreed to. Drainage on Arch Hill.—The recommen* dation of the Streets Committee was adopted—that the engineer prepare plans - and submit an estimate of cost of drain*. ing- a. number ot streets on the Arch ____■;% side of the borough. Accounts totalling £29S 12/ were ordered to be paid.
