UNITED V. PARNELL,

With three wickets down for 118, Parnell resumed their second innings. The innings closed for 162. I. Mills carried his score from 45 to GO (not out). The other batsmen could do very little against the United bowling. United, with 159 to make to win, lost Stemson at the start, but N. B. Lusk and D. Hay scored quickly, and the required total was reached for the loss of six wickets. Lusk treated the spectators to some fine hitting, and his 53 was scored in quick time. D. Hay (40) was also in good form. Parnell's catching was excellent. The following are the scores:— Parnell. first innings 169 PARNELL—Second Innings. I. Mills, not out • 6fi F. J.
