FIRE.
A fire occurred on Constitution SiH at 2.25 a.m. to-day, one house being completely destroyed and another | gutted. The fire started in a dwelling occupied by Mrs. Elizabeth Cooper, and spread so rapidly that practically nothing was saved, the \*> mates having just time to esc&pfc The flames spread to the adjoining house, owned and occupied by Mft H Archibald Grandison, and this buildl ing was gutted before the fire v?a» ( '~ suppressed. Mrs. Cooper's furniture'; was insured for £150 in the National : and Mr. Grandison had a policy oi £175 on his house, in the National w v; fice t -■'■'■-:■
