BUNKER'S HILL.
Operations upon No. 1 reef this week have resulted in 171bs of picked stone being obtained from No. 5 stope. The winze- below No. 2 level has been sunk seven feet. The quartz is improving in size and appearance as progress is made with development work. IMPERIAL. The new reef has now been opened up for a length of ninety feet southward. At eighty-one feet in the reef made a splice, "the hanging-wall section bein»- fully two feet wide and striking off with a rather flat underlie to the -westward, while the iootwall section is striking off more with a northward course. The latter portion of the reef is about lift in thickness, and is composed of heavily mineralised ore, also yielding fair dish prospects' ot gold. A m.ost congenial class o! country encases the reef, and the manager is hopeful joi' meeting with good results when this portion of the reef becomes developed.
