The cricket, match, Wellington v. Canterbury, was commenced at Lancaster Park nt 1.40 to-day, when the weather was dull and threatening- and a. cold wind blowing' from the east. Barry, the local captain, won the toss, and thewicketbeing fast sent his opponents into the field, Sims and Wigley facing the bowling of Tucker and Uphain. At 3,p.m. 14 had been scored without the loss of a wicket.
