There was a good attendance of buyers, and an unsatisfied demand still exists for all young horses of a useful class, but unfortunately the market is glutted with aged and infirm animals, which are difficult to dispose of at any price. For all classes with size and age in their favour competition was keen, and we disposed of horses at the following prices: — Draught stallion, Scotland Laddie, by Royal Conqueror, 40 guineas: active heavy spring cart horse, £32 10/; pair waggon or ploush [horses, £19 each; light and staunch young horses, up to 10 to IBewt, £15 to £20 each; aged, useful, and light harness sorts, £5 to £S; unbroken horses, suitable for 'bus or tram. £8 to £13; well-bred hacks,,£l2 to £15 each. There was a good muster of stock at Rimcimau on Wednesday, and nearly all sold at good values, dairy cows of good quality bringing from £5 to £G 7/6 each; well-bred strong calves, £1 5/ to 'CI 15/; vei'.rlimrs, £2 in/ to £3; fresh-conditioned grown steers, £G 10/ to £7 C/; two to threevenr £G to £G 10/; dry cows. £2 to £3 5/; fat ewes. 12/6; small pigs.
