This morning was lovely at -the Hirtt, but the work done was not of much importance, most of the horses being given, light tasks in view of winding up gallop-to-morrow morning. Scottish Minstrel had slighly the better of Windwhistle in at five- furlongs' sprint on the plough. Cameo had most to say at the end of six furlongs on the plough in company with* Cadet and Hypnotist; time, lm 20s. Spider galloped pleasingly in a spin from tha six furlongs' post on the outside of the racing track, taking lm 20s. Menscbikoft had a little the better of Cruciform oven a measured Half-mile on the plough, the pace being merry, as the time. 4S|s, proved. Boreas, looking bright and well, trot* ted a couple of rounds, and then put ins another couple at half pace. One of his legs looked somewhat suspicious, but It is thought he will come through the. finalgallops all right. Advance looks none the worse for his Auckland trip, and is bright as a star. He put in half pace work for. a few rounds. Torfulla did half pace work Ngatahuia has filled out since, fr* last appeared in public, and both he a** Whitney did serviceable tasks, while Ostiak trotted.
