CAMBRIDGE.
CAMBRIDGE, Monday.
The Domain Board met on Saturday afternoon, when there was a full attendance, Mr T. :Wells presiding. The chairman reported that the -whole of the improvements connected with the bowling- green and tennis lawn had cost about £104.
The Pukekura Road Board met on Saturday aftei-hoon, the whole of the, members being present. The chief business was to -.onslder. the matter of including the plants of the second - schedule of
"The Noxious Weeds Act, 1900," in the special order to be passed by the Board. Tho members appeared to favour only including gorse and broom. It was decided to work in conjunction with the County Council, which body will be moving in the matter, and appoint the same inspector.. Mr Wallace, of Papatoitoi, wrote objecting to a road on the Moana Vale Estate being stopped where it adjoined; his land. Mr Walker said Mr Wallace was under a misapprehension, for the road he referred to had been closed for many years, according to information received from the Survey Department, .and it was marked on the county maps as being closed. Tenders had been called for three lots of road works, but only one was tendered for, namely, Scott's road, near Ohaupo, and only two put in for that. James Williamson's was accepted, he being slightly the lower. An application was received from the clerk to have his salary raised. He has worked 24 years for £12 10/ per annum. The salary was raised to £15 per annum . Mr W. J. Hunter had a splendid sale here on Saturday. The yards were full and everything was sold. This year's calves made up to £2 3/, and a choice pen of 18 months olds brought £3 14/. The farmers here have been talking of falling markets, but this does not look like a fall.
