A BRITISH CONVOY ATTACKED.
I iTHE ENEMY REPULSED
LONDON, December 7.
Five hundred men belonging to De la Bey's force determinedly attacked a convoy proceeding from Pretoria to Rustenburg, at Duffel's Poort, on the 3rd.
The escort consisted of 25 Victorians mounted, with two guns of the 75th Battery, and two companies bf the West Yorkshires.
Details show that the Yorkshire Light Infantry, west of the kopjes, fought with great gallantry. The Boers entered the first half of the convoy and burnt a wagg-on. General Broadwood is sending assistance.
The Boers dispersed on, the 4th. They suffered heavily, some being Hlled-by case shot 50 yards from.the guns. The British.,had 15 killed and 23 bounded.
