THE HON. J. G. WARD.
This morning the Hon. J. G. Ward, I'ostmaster-Geucral and Minister for Railways, who arrived from Wellington yesterday afternoon, visited the Coiocial Annnuuition Co.'s factory at 'Mi. Edep, and inspected the process of cartridge manufacture with close interest, " On ret timing to town he went across to the North Shore, and in company with Mr J. H. Withe ford, M.H.-E-. (Chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board) inspected the Calliope Dock. He was afterwards driven out to Birkenhead,' where he lunched with Mr Witheford. The Minister returned to town early in the afternoon, in order to be in attendance at the Departmental Buildings, Customs-street, at three o'clock, to receive deputations.. To-morrow Mr Ward makes n brief visit to the Waikato, returning in the evening-. On Monday morning he. will pay a visit of inspection to the railway workshops at Newmarket. On Monday evening he-will dine with His Worship the Mayor (Mr D. Goldie).
