HAMILTON.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent)
HAMILTON, this day MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
At the Magistrate's Court yesterday Bernard Murray, charged with using threatening language against James O'Shea, pleaded guilty. The magistrate administered severe reprimand. He was sorry to have to strike the case out, as the charge was laid under section 3 of the Police Offences Act, which does not include an hotel bar as a public place. The case, Owen v. Ede, a claim for'the value of a cow sold by an auctioneer as sound, and afterwards found to be blind, was heard, and judgment was reserved. WAIKATO HOSPITAL, The Waikato Hospital Board met today, when a-- number of new members took their seats. W. Dey, the Hamilton representative, was elected Chairman, for the ensuing- year. It was decided to inform contractors that they must only supply goods ordered, unless specially authorised. It was decided to wait on the Hon. Ward and point out that a large number of King Country patients were treated at the institution, and the Board received no contribution from that district, nor were any patients treated as paying- ones. The Board will ask the Minister if arrangement could not be made for the payment of a subsidy.
