CHRISTMAS TREE.
The sale of work and Christmas tree orfjanis^ii by the congregation of St. Thomas' Church, Union-street, was opened Jn the Parish Hall yesterday afternooon by the Rev. W. M. Dv Riou.' Tho hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion. The stalls were arranged in the corners, while ft Christmas tree occupied the centre. Misses Ilaynes (2) are attending to the tree, which was stripped yesterday of the crowds of toys with which it was hung. The stalls are In the charge of the following ladies:— Fancy work, Miss Harrison and Mrs Wilting; flower stall. Tvliss Walker; refreshment stall, Misses Srhenk and "Wilkins, Mesdaine-s Schenk and Raynes. Misses R. Raynes and R. Walker had charge of the lucky dip. A-n excellent musical programme was gone through during- the evening. The sale of work will be re-opened this afternoon aud evening.
