The Boers, impelled by hunger, raided close to Standerton, on the Transvaal-Natal, line.
$' They were successful in capturing 40 cattle, but a British detachment garrisoning the district pursued and -dispersed the commando, and besides recovering the cattle captured ten waggon loads of loot that the Boers had collected. ;
