At the Warden's Court to-day the following applications were granted by Mr E. S. Bush: M. M. Algie and Charles Odium, residence sites, Omahu; R. Martin, 6 months' protection, Gloucester Extended claim, Karaka, on condition that. 3 men are put on to work the New Gloucester claim at once; John Neves, Evening Star Extended quartz claim, Tapir, John Collins, permission to work Essex claim, Tairua, with two men for six months; Puru Consolidated G.M.Co., permission to work Russell Extended claim with two men for six months; also to work the Russell claim with two men for six months; Tairua Broken Hills G.M. Co., permission to work Broken Hills claim with four men for six months; Broken Hills No. 2 claim, with 4 men for 6 months; Broken Hill No. 3 claim, with 4 men for 6 months; Broken Hill No. 4 claim, with 4 men for 6 months; Bullion Gold Mining Company, permission to work Sheridan claim, Tapu, with 6 men for 6 months; FortunaHauraki, 6 months' protection for Fortuna claim and water race; Orion G.M. Co., 6 months' protection for New Aurarius claim; E. T. Dufaur and G. Russell, 6 months' protection Inverness claim, Puriri. William Gorrie, absolute surrender, was accepted of ,the Gem claim, Tairua; Gorden Agnew and others, forfeiture of Myosotis claim, Tairua, accepted; James Dobson, Baden-Powell Extended claim, I'uhoi Creek, adjourned September 18. Applications by the Whangamata Gold Corporation, Limited, for exchange of titles,, was adjourned to first Court day in November. The following' applications having received the consent of the Minister for Mines, were to-day granted: William Gorrie and others, Myosotis and Gem special quartz claims, Tairua; It. S. Martin, New Gloucester special quartz claim, Karaka, Thames. The following applications were recommended to the Minister for Mines: Golden-Belt G,M. Co., six' months' protection for machine site and two water races', Neavesvilie, on condition that the rent is paid and the company's ownership of ground proved to the satisfaction of the War-: tlen.

Plaints: Norman McLean v. Chelmsford G.M.Co. This claim, for £259, for work done and damages for alleged breach of contract, was heard last Court day, when judgment was reserved until to-day. The Warden this morning awarded the plaintiff £109 10/9 for work done, with costs £ 29 '13/. On defendant's .counter claim Warden awarded £27 10/ and costs £4 8/.
