.WRECKED BY A TORNADO
KEKEWICK HURRYING TO THE
TOWN,
LONDON, September 2. •The recent tornado wrecked most of the" buildings at Mafeking, including ihe field hospital, which at the time Jontained 150 patients.
; The ground was strewn with tents, -uildings, medicines and comforts. Rushing water carried off the soldiers' Idts.
Many were struck and injured,
| LONDON, September 1. ■■Colonel Kekewick, the defender of fomberley, is hastening to Mafeking from Kimberley, with the North Lancashire Regiment, the only regulars toho.participated in the defence of the diamond centre.
