ATTACK ON MAFEKING.
MORE BOER TREACHERY
LONDON,
May 3.
General Snyman on April 11, with five guns, attacked Mafeking, dropping 30 shells into the women's laager and hospital, and deliberately attempted to pierce the women's bomb-proof shelters.
A large force, including Germans, advanced towards the fort.
The garrison, awaiting1 the attack, firal a volley suddenly, killing five and dispersing the attackers.
The duration of the siege is a question of food. The. bread allowance is cow four ounces daily.
Colonel Plmner on the' Kith sent natives with cattle, hoping that, possibly they might get through the lines of investment. The besiegers killed two and wounded three.
