Sir, —1 think the Plague Commissioners made a big mistake in not erecting their hospital in the MomH Eden district. 1 venture to assert if this had been done, so apathetic and sleepy are the ratepayers that they would not .have known, that it-.had gone up let alone protested against it. Now that they, are on the verge of winter, and after a lot pf, talk, they still have no public lamps, though this is one •of the largest road board districts in Auckland. I see they only require 1.50 more signatures to the petition to enable them to obtain 100 Tamps.- Doy-goo'ii people, wake up and sign it at once and so remove the reproach, from this much benighted, district.—l- -am; etc.,
