CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
o A special meeting of the members of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce was held at 2.30 o'clock this afternoon in the Harbour Board Offices, for the purpose of considering the question of registeringtheChanibei ■under the Unclassified Societies Registration Act, 1895. There were present, Mr Samuel Vaile (President), Mi Goulstone (Secretary), Messrs J. Eeed. A. H. Nathan, R. R. Hunt, W. Leighton. P. Chcal, J. Burns, J. M. Mennie, and 11. M. Smeeton. The Chairman explained that an unclassified society could be registered upon, two-thirds of the members present at a meeting resolving to register. Mr Vaile quoted various clauses of the Act to let those present fully understand what the recommendation of the Council of the Chamber really meant. He stated that, the solicitors recommended the Chamber to register as, suggested. Mr A. H. Nathan, moved that tht Chamber be registered tinder the Act This was seconded by Mr Leighton. and supported by Mr J. Reed. Th< motion was the,n adopted unanimously,
