LONDON, March 17. .: In the first interview of the Federal Delegation, with the law officers, numerous criticisms of a far-reaching character were proposed, involving the covering clauses and the Constitution. Mr Barton, Mr Deal.en, and Mr Kingston combated the contentions of Sir Kichard Webster (AttorneyGeneral), Sir B. B. Einlay (SolicitorGeneral), and Mr Ilbert (law draughtsman), with the result that all were abandoned, with the exception of seven, which the Crown strongiy press, partly in the belief that they would prevent encroaching- on the Boyal prerogatives.

In the second interview the law of. fleers and delegates argued the criticisms clause by clause.
