There was unparalleled enthusiasnj in connection with St. Batrick's Day celebrations throughout the United Kingdom and the Empire. .Many reference were made to the Queen "and Lord Boberts. The Queen was the recipient of a shamrock grown on the Saint's grave, and a harp from the Irish women. The Irish flag was flown at the Mansion House in London and elsewhere. The Lord Mayor of Dublin was subjected to a hostile demonstration by a section of the crowd at- the St. Batrick's procession in Dublin. The windows of the carriage were smashed. The attack was intended as a protest against the corporation deciding to present the Queen with an address of welcome on the occasion of her visit to Ireland. SYDNEY, this day.
