Lord Ranfurly, President of the New Zealand Association for the Protection of Women and Children, and also for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; has consented to preside at the annual meeting to be held on the 18th of April. His Excellency has also most kindly invited the Committee to hold the meeting at Government House; no doubt there will be a large gathering. The Society has strong branches in Wellington and Dunedin, and now arrangements are being made for the starting of one in Taranaki under very good auspices, which will relieve the Auckland Society to some extent.
