CHINA INLAND MISSION.
There was a crowded attendance last evening at the annual meeting' of Auckland friends and supporters of the China Inland Mission in the V.M.C.A. Rooms, under the auspices of the North Island Council. The Rev. G. B. Monro, who presided, pave a sketch of the Mission,' and said that three missionaries had been sent out from this colony to China—Miss Blake]y, the Rev. J. Malcolm and Mr Ford. It was now intended to have two Boards, one in Dunedin and the other in Auckland, with representatives in all parts of the colony, who would give information to any intending- candidates. In Dunedin they had established a testing1 home, where candidates would be put through a course of tests in order to ascertain as lo their fitness. Mr F. Bodle read the balance-sheet of the 'Mission, whk'h showed that during the period ending Dec. 31 last the receipts had totalled £217 15/10, the disbursements leaving a balance in hand of £3 19/4. Since thebalance-sheet had been closed about £100 had been received. The
Rev. Hudson Taylor gave an address, |in the course of which he gave some advice, to intending missionaries. Dui*ino- the 35 years of the Mission there had been .between 20,000 and 25.000 converts in China. Mrs Hudson Taylor, the Eev. Dr. H. Taylor and Mrs i Taylor also gave addresses on the Mission work
