WAIHI NEWS.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WAIHT, Thursday. A male glee club has been formed in Waihi with a start tof twenty members. This is a. long-felt want sup~ plied, for there is no dotibt about the quality of the available talent in tihe township. Mr J. Hemus, w!ho Is a , well-known musician, has been elected conductor, and the club has also had the good fortune to :obtain as members a first-class first tenor and bass. The club will, I understand, give four concerts during the year, which will no doubt prove a great i treat to the music-loving- public of Waihi. The people of Waihi have this week been treated to the foreign musician craze, two of which are now serenading the streets. Some suggest that the stout violinist is none other than a Jkier spy, yet they play "Soldiers of the Queen" and "Sons of the Sea" wM'ih great fervour and execution. The weather has been beautiful tlijs weelv, and continues so, but the want of ivtin is badly felt throughout the towmsihip. M; Lazerne's Vaudeville Company has been showing1 in Tanner's Hall to good houses.
