Tair.ua Broken HiJl shares firmed in price to-day on the Exchange, buyers coiningl in strongly, with the result that sales were made at 13/, and more could have been placed at the same rate. May Queen shares were offered as low as 2/6, but buyers declined to advance beyond 2/4.Crown shares were a. shade firmer, being' wanted at 13/4, while for Talismans 11/0 was offered. Standard stocks had good demand. Buyers came in for New Zealand Insurance at GO/, and Auckland Gas were wanted at £13 5/. Ilikurangi Coal had buyers at 7/, sales being made at that price last evening. Avondale Brick and Pottery shares were quoted to-day for the first time on the Exchange, buyers offering par and holders "asking- 1/ premium.
