The nineteenth annual session ol the above was opened in the Mercantile Chambers on Tuesday, when. the roll of officera was called as follows:—W.P.G.M., Bro. Jas. Phillips;; WG.M. Bro. Jas. Stevens; D.GM, Bro J. H. Field; G.S., Bro. Wm. Smith; G.T. Bro. J. G. Burns; G. Trustee, Bro. Robfc. Scott; G. Trustee Bro. J. W. Gtvilliam, G. Trustee^ Bro. Jno. West; P.M. in Ex. C, Bro. H. H. Seabrook; P.M. in Ex. C, Bro. Ed. Dutton; P.M. in Ex. C, Bro. W. J. May; G. Chaplain, Bro. Samuel Driver, deceased. The roll of lodges was then called when the following lodges were represented by delegates:—Nos 9 Caversham, 11 Dunedin, 12 Hastings, 13 Oamaru, 15 Ngapara (Oalnaru), 17 St. Albans, 20 Thames, 25 Dunedin, 41 Green Island, 44 .Napier, 50 Wellington, 53 Auckland. The grand secretary then read the annual report, which showed that the society was in a sound financial position. After some debate the report was adopted. The trustees reported that they had in their hands £3750 of Funeral Fund and £2PO Lodge Relief Fund. The funds invested by; the Grand Lodge are as follows:— £1850 at 6J per cent,; £2205 at 7& per cent.; £140 at 8 per cesit; and £205 in the Savings Bank at* 3J per cent.; interest collected during the year £275 15/; the amount of interest collected the previous year £Yt& T/9;j liabilities nil. The amount pa\d by^ the Grand Lodge from the Fiineral Fund amounted to £430, being ap. increase of £395 on the previous year. The balance-sheets and financial and numerical statements, together with the grand auditor's report, were read and adopted.
With reference to the levies, it was resolved that the amount be 5/p per annum in aid of the Funeral Fund) and 4/ in aid of the Incidental Ftmd for the next two years. The entrance fee- was re-arranged, making tfce, amount considerably less, the registration fee of members to the Funeral Fund was decreased, whilo the registration of wives to the same fund was considerably increased.
The salaries and allowances for the next two years were then fixed.
The election of officers then took place, with the following result:—■ G.M., Bro. H. H. Seabrook; D.M., J. H. Field; G. Sec, Bro. W. Smith; G. Treas., Gro. S. G. Burns; G. Chap., Bro. Jas. Oliver;. G. Trustees, Bros. Field, Dutton, and May; Past Masters *n Executive Council. Bros. R. Carr, J. Caraahan, and C. D. Joynt; auditors, Bros. Tregaskis and McDonald. The meeting then adjourned fo* dinner.
