Though supplies are now plentiful at Osfontein the British army lived for three days on fresh meat and porridge made from the horses bran after the recent capture.of the British convoy at Reit River. Sixty dead Boers were found in a cave in Commandant- Cronje's laager at Koodoosrand. Cronje's staff admit that they have been overwhelmed with kindness since being1 taken prisoners. Lord Roberts has been gazetted hon. colonel of the City of London Imperial Volunteers.
