ISOLATED TOWNS TERRORISED.

The rebel Dutch in Griqualand West have annexed Prieska and Keniard to the Free State. Both these peaces are in north-west-Cape Colony, on the Orange Eiver, the former 107 miles from De ; Aar and the latter an additional 100 miles. They have imprisoned' the magistrate asnd many residents of Kenhardt. Three thousand rebels' threaten the town" a? Carnarvon. - [Carnarvon is reached by cart frcfm Victoria West station, 419 miles from Capetown on the line to De Aar and Kimberley. The jorur'ney takes 20 hours by coach. Carnarvon is the centre of a sheep farming district and has a population p:£ 925.]
