BUTTER EXPORT.

; WELLINGTON, this day. •■ 1 am indebted to ,the kindness of Mr t Buddiclc,. Chief,. Gpvevninent Dairy, ;v C|ommissibner, for the following statistics rela.tirig- to exports of butter from the colony. Up to the 24th February the exports amounted to a .-■-total of 125,753" ewt, but as the season does' not close until the end of this month, the exports ..will no doubt be largely; increased, and the 2;j per cent, increase ; on the total of 10f;,749 ewt. exported •■ for the whole of last year will probably reach 40 per cent..The exports bj- the Paparoa and ~" the Karamea (now loading) are not included. Cheese . to the amount of 48,511 cw.t was exported xip to. the 24th. February,1 '<as against 50,049 cwt. last-year, but thp quantity for the present season wijl also be increased by , eonsignr^nfs coming in from that date until the end of March. ' "! . s'-" "'
