WESLEYAN CONFERENCE.

The Conference, reassembled this morning in pastoral session.

The first business was the examina- ; tion of those who, having completed their probation, were recommended for i ordination. At the a-equest. of the ! President the examination was conj ducted by Rev. S. Lawry. The reports 'of their work in the circuits, and of 'their written examination having been [presented, they were severally received into full connexion with the Conference, and are to be ordained on Thursday evening. The following are ithe names of those accepted:—Revs. A. lAshcroft, 11. L. Blamires, A. B. Chap- | pell, J. A. Hosking. Rev. Te Tuhi illeretini, of the Native Ministry, was j examined by Rev. W. Gittos and received into full connexion, and is to be ordained with the others on Thursday. In answer to the question, "What preachers remain on trial?'1 Rev. W. S. Bowie was continued on probation, athis own request, for a fifth year. Other cases were being considered when the Conference adjourned nt 12.30. Thn ministerial session is to be resumed on Wednesday at 9.30 a.m. Mr Thomas Allen, who left yesterday in the s.s. Westralia for Sj^dney, en route for London, was appointed by the Wesleyan Conference New Zealand's representative to the forthcoming British Conference. He had a unanimous vote to a post of honour which does not often fall to the lot of Wesleyan laymen.
