THE DOCK FATALITY.
THE INQUEST.
'The unfortunate man James Harris, who was one of those injured at Calliope Dock on Saturday, died about 5.30 o'clock yesterday morning at the Hospital. The deceased was a single man 22 years of age, and resided in Victoria-street. Nathaniel Weston, the other badly injured man, still remains at the Hospital in a precarious condition. On Saturday the factory inspector, Mr Hubert Ferguson, went over to the Dock and made full inquiries into the accident, in order to give evidence at the inquest. An inquiry into the cause of the death of James Harris commenced at the Hospital at 1 o'clock this afternoon before the coroner, Dr. McArthur. The proceeding were of a formal nature, the jury after seeing the body and hearing the evidence of Constable Williams, of Devonport, as to identification, decided to adjourn.
Mr Hugh Campbell was present at the inquiry on behalf of the aHrbour Board.
