NEWMARKET SALE OF WORK.
For some time past the ladies of Newmarket Wesleyan Church 'have been preparing for a cake' and apron fair that was opened this afternoon at 2.30 o'clock by Mr J. C. Allen in the Public Hall, which 'has been 'tastefully decorated for the occasion. A Christmas tree is prominent, covered with pretty articles. The stall for fancy goods is presided over by Mes» dames Gilmour and Woods, and Miss .Trounson; the plain goods stall by Mesdames Mason, Stone and Missea Kent and Iveightley. The refreshment stall is in charge of Mesdames Harvey, Hardy, A. Holmes and the Misses Rose; flowers and confectionery, Misses Woods and French; Christmas tree, Mrs Basire, and the Misses 11. .I.eightley and Martin. There are a few side shows that will be in operation this evening. The Newton Mission Brass Band is to play selections outside during the evening, and the proceedinginside the. hall will be enlivened by a concert. The sale of work, the object of -which is to assist the Trust and Circuit Funds, will be continued tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon and evening.
