ALPHA.
The western exploring crosscut at No. 4 level is in 283 feet from the starting pint, and there is a decided improvement in the character of the country now being entered upon. Prospecting work in the Rainbow section, near the Te-Ao-Marama, revealed two strong ore bodies, one two feet wide and giving an assay value of £2' per ton, and the other two feet six inches, assaying £1 8s 9d per ton. HAURAKI ASSOCIATED. Fairly good ore has been won during the. past week from the intermediate .drives though not so rich as" formerly. The country is still as good, but the leader is rather disturbed, Should the leader beconie more defined, better results may be expected. The tributers in the No. 1 section are again on better stuff. There is nothing fresh to. report from the other tribute parties.
