THE ELECTORAL ROLLS.
Mr J. Jenkhi and Mr Bellhonse attended at the XewtcSn West public school on Saturday afternoon in order to take particulars of residents in the Arch Hill Road District whose names were notl on the roll. Altogether, particulars were taken down of 41 complaints. In some cases the people admitted not having' answered registered letters received from the Registrar of Electors. Others did answer them, but all the same were not put on the roll. Two whose names had been on the roll found it, ruled out in red ink for Eden, and were told their names was on the City roll. One bricklayer stated he * signed a claim in the Registrar's office, and had it. witnessed by the Registrar. As his name did not appear on the first roll he sent in another claim and received a registered letter from the Registrar, which he answered by return post. Not getting his name on the roll he interviewed the S.M. and also the Crown Prosecutor, Imt found he. had not vote. Another stated the claim was sent and a constable called to inquire, about it, still the. name, was not on the roll. The constable stated he sent it. in as correct. One lady who resided in the. district 30 years and voted last election found her name struck oft, the roll. Others deposed to sending in claims, but were not put on the rolls.
