DEATH OF MR T. H. MARTYN.

The death is announced of Mr Thos. H. Martyn, a member of the firm of Messrs Ambury and English, dairymen. Deceased died from cancer of the stomach. He leaves a widow and family, four sons and two daughters. Deceased was formerly a member of the Newton Schools Committee. He was a trustee of the Pitt-street Wesleyan Church, of which body he was a member. The funeral took place yesterday at Purewa. A mortuary service was held in the Pitt-street Church, which was largely attended, in which the Revs. W. J. Williams, W. Ready, and J. G. Chapman took part. Reference was made to deceased's service to the Church. The chief mourners were the widow and family. The burial service at the grave was conducted by the Rev. AY. J. Williams. Last evening an in memoriam service was conducted at the Pitt-street Church by the Rev. W. J. Williams. During the service the choir sang the hymn "The Homeland" (Arthur Sullivan) and Dr. Stainer's "What are These Arrayed in White?" while at the close Mr Forbes, organist, played the "Dead March" in "Saul," the congregation standing.
