Mr Thomas Mackenzie has decided to contest the Waikouaiti seat in the Opposition interest. Mr John White, solicitor, contests Waikouaiti in the Opposition interest. At Port Chalmers last evening Mr E. G. Allen, M.H.R., was presented by his constituents with an oak silver-mount-ed salad bowl and silver fish-slice. Addresses were delivered by the Hons. J, G. Ward and Lee Smith, and Messrs A. Morrison, J. A. Millar, and T. Duncan. ' TIMARU, this day. Mr P. R. Flatman, Ministerialist, addressed a meeting of 600 at Temuka last night, and was very well received. He was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence, and a second vote of confidence in the Ministry was also passed.
