FIRE AT TARARU.

. THAMES, this day. I Last evening a fire destroyed -two: dwelling houses at Tararu, owned and I occupied by Mrs 'Mellett and -Mrs.Stevens respectively. The fire originated at Mellett's, where it is surmised a I candle was left burning by one of the I girls, who had gone to a concert, and-; that the window curtains became ignited. Mr Mellett's house consisted.„ of six rooms, and Stevenss' house of five rooms, and both buildings were totally destroyed. The insurances are: Mellett's furniture £ 100, and house I £70, in the Phoenix office; Stevens',' £100 on house and furniture in the Norwich. Mrs Melloit estimates her'" loss at £600 and Mr Stevens his loss at £200.
